Everyone in Qld has the right to conduct a peaceful protest. However, protesters blocking roads is dangerous, irresponsible and selfish. 😕
Recent evidence has shown that protesters are now putting their arms in steel cylinders and drums filled with concrete – filled with glass fragments and even butane gas containers, clearly aimed at injuring those trying to cut them free.
We’re making these devices illegal and giving Queensland Police Service the power to search those they reasonably suspect are in possession of them.
