It was exciting to receive a visit from the Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Mark Bailey MP to confirm that we have secured the site for the new multi-storey Park ‘n’ Ride at Springfield Central with tenders for the detailed design work to open in coming weeks.
I know that the current park ‘n’ ride is overstretched and we will work as quickly as we can to get the new facility constructed and make it easier for commuters to park and go – with 1,100 parking spots to be made available.
Thank you also to those who have contacted me about Ipswich City Council’s recent decision to issue warning tickets to commuters parking near the station – I have spoken with the new Council Administrator and will be meeting him this week to discuss options to assist commuters in the interim.
