Legislation to allow access to voluntary assisted dying in Queensland has been introduced into the Queensland Parliament today.

The Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2021 will now be scrutinised by a Parliamentary Committee, and will undergo further public consultation.

I would urge you to read the Queensland Law Reform Commission (QLRC) Summary Report – https://bit.ly/3oMJAMl that provides more detail on the proposed scheme.

I recognise the deeply-held and very personal views that community members have in respect to voluntary assisted dying and the opportunity to have a respectful debate about the matters proposed.

If you would like to contact me about this, I would be pleased to hear from you via email jordan@parliament.qld.gov.au or call 3447 9300.
