We got Phase 2…now we want Phase 3! 
The Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk MP has signed an MOU with Rheinmetall Defence Australia reconfirming our long-term partnership with the company firmly focused on attracting the LAND 400 Phase 3 contract to QLD.
Valued at $27 billion, the contract would mean an additional 500 jobs on top of the 450 highly skilled positions that the Phase 2 contract has created.
It was terrific to be out on site at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Ipswich this morning – along with some of the fantastic students from our WesTEC Trade Training Centre in Springfield who are definitely eyeing a future in defence manufacturing.
