Whilst most of us pay our fines promptly…some need a little reminder or nudge.
This is where SPER (State Penalties Enforcement Registry) comes in to ensure that fines and penalty debts issued by authorities like DTMR, QPS, Courts and Councils are being collected.
Earlier this year, the Queensland Government established the Debt Management Centre (DMC) – and it was a pleasure to visit the team, along with Jennifer Howard MP and Lance McCallum MP to find out more about their work.
Importantly, the DMC has seen over 90 new Govt frontline jobs (soon to be 130!) created right in the heart of the Ipswich CBD, which we know will be of great benefit to the local economy.
